IT'S NOT ALWAYS EASY BEING GREEN . . .
At Digital Ink Studios, we acknowledge that being environmentally friendly isn't always the easiest of tasks. However as a company and as individuals we do everything we can to decrease our carbon footprint, and lower emmissions of harmful greenhouse gases.
We are continually reviewing the way we handle our projects to ensure we keep waste to a minimum, one such way we do this is by reusing all of our waste paper and office documents in our packaging room as an alternative form of protective cushioning. We do the same with all the offcut/overcut paper products at our printing facility.
RECYCLE, RECYCLE, RECYCLE!
We actively promote recycling and advise our clients to use recycled paper stocks wherever possible, we also use recycled packaging materials wherever we can, both at our print facility and at our design studio.
RESPONSIBLY SOURCED UTILITIES
Our utility companies have been sourced with the environment in mind, and as such we use companies that also do their bit for the environment.
PROMOTE EMMISSION-FREE TRANSPORT
We encourage our employees to cycle or walk to work wherever possible, and if they don't live near enough, then we promote the use of public transport or our lift-sharing scheme to cut emmisions. We also use our telecommunications and the internet to minimise travel to and from clients.
WE PRINT WITH THE PLANET IN MIND . . .
In our digital presses; wherever possible we use recycled or FSC/PEFC approved papers. In our lithographic presses: wherever possible we use vegetable oil based inks and recycled or FSC/PEFC approved papers. In our large format printers we do all our interior-use work using aqueous pigmented inks (water-based, biodegradable), and where an outdoor durability is required we stick to latex and eco-solvent inks, which are much better for the environment than more commonly used full-solvent and UV curable inks.
